Brave ... shop owner fights off the gun-wielding thief with his bat

Determined shopkeeper uses a baseball bat to fight off a crook despite being shot in the leg. The extraordinary video shows Luis Quizphe batting back the repeated attempts by two intruders to raid his business.

And even after being shot at close range the brave 62-year-old continues to wave his bat at the foolhardy crook.

He then refused to buzz the men out to try and prevent their escape.
The incident took place in a Chicago shop.
After battling them back for several minutes, the two men eventually fled from the store.

Mr Quizphe is now recovering from his injuries in hospital and police in Chicago have arrested a 53-year-old suspect in connection with the incident. Cornell Mack has been charged with attempted murder and armed robbery.
Cops are still hunting for a second man.
