Impaled ... Liu Fenghe with 18in steel bar in his head
This is the 18in steel bar impaled in the head of a worker after it fell off a building site. Liu Fenghe was talking to a colleague on the ground when he suddenly dropped to the floor with the rod sticking from his bonce. 
Emergency surgery ... Liu is lying on operating table with rod protruding from his head
Work friend Zhang said: “It happened too quickly. Before I realised anything, he was already in a pool of blood.”
It is thought the metal bar fell from the 25th floor of the building.

It had such force it penetrated just under 8in into his head. Doctors performed emergency surgery in Shanghe County, Shandong Province, China. The hospital said Liu is now out of danger.
Out of danger ... doctors are checking on Liu as he recovers from operation
