Unmasked: Baby-faced schoolboy rapist jailed for horror canal sex attack

A TWISTED teen who raped a 20-year-old woman by a Merseyside canal’s identity has been revealed as a judge jailed him four and a half years.

Vile Jake Hart, 15, attacked his victim on the tow path of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Melling on the afternoon of December 10 last year.

A judge today took the unusual step of revealing the baby-faced rapist identity after a psychiatrist made the “rare” decision someone as young as him was a danger to the public.

Before the sick schoolboy attacked the au pair he had already followed another woman along the same towpath who was so concerned she warned a passing dog walker about him.

The woman was taking photographs by the canal when the teenage thug grabbed her from behind.

She tried to run away from him but he punched her in the head several times.

She screamed and he punched her in the eye.

He grabbed hold of her waist and he came towards her and asked her to perform a sex act on him.

She refused and began to scream but the more she screamed the more Hart punched her before orally raping the defenceless woman.

After the attack the depraved schoolboy apologised saying “I’m sorry” and “don’t tell anyone.”

She managed to get away from him and flagged down a passing van driver for help in Brewery Road, Melling, after other motorists failed to stop for her.

The van driver spotted Hart and shouted for him to stop but he picked up his bicycle and ran off across a field. The victim had bruising to her left eye, bleeding from her right year and scratches to her hands.

Hart was arrested the next day and denied the offences but the following day asked to be re-interviewed and admitted the offences but denied they were premeditated.

Martine Snowdon prosecuting said that the victim had feared for her life and has since given up her au pair job and returned to her home in Europe.

Although he has no previous convictions he had made some admissions to police in 2012 after 11 women reported a male indecently exposing himself but he was not picked out on identity parades and was not charged.
Sentencing Hart, who showed no emotion, Judge Warnock said, “You carried out a horrifying attack on a totally innocent visitor to this country.
“You repeatedly struck her, caused her serious physical injury, you raped her. She was undoubtedly psychologically damaged in the extreme.”
He said that experts had “concluded sadly and very rarely that despite his age he he poses a danger to others.
“It is my earnest wish you will receive professional treatment and advice which will go to the prevention of such horrifying offences. It is imperative for society and for you that you receive the best professional treatment and advice that can be afforded to you.”
Sharon Watson, defending said, “He is at a loss to explain his actions” but has taken responsibility for them.
“He explained he was angry when he saw the complainant and saw red and against that background acted in the way he did.”
She said his parents are “utterly horrified” by his behaviour but are supporting him.
